Plague Hearts are essentially the life source for all plague-stricken zombies in the game, which means that zombies will fervently defend Plague Hearts wherever they are located. When you venture out on a mission to destroy a Plague Heart in State of Decay 2, make sure to bring enough explosives with you to get the job done. This includes explosives such as Molotov cocktails, grenades, and grenade launchers.
Plague Hearts are only vulnerable to fire, which means you’ll need to come prepared if you’re hoping to destroy enough Plague Hearts to eradicate the Blood Plague in State of Decay 2.īeing vulnerable to fire means that you can use any fire-based weaponry to eliminate Plague Hearts. You’ll quickly realize that Plague Hearts can’t be destroyed with just anything. After hunting down one of these throbbing heaps of flesh and bone, you must try to destroy them to rid the area of its zombie infestation. To find Plague Hearts, look for buildings surrounded by a red mist. Thing is I really don't like games like that, but some people do and I somewhat understand that because I used to as well. The first time you encounter a Plague Heart in State of Decay 2 happens early on in the game after you have built your home base. No difficulty but room to be imaginative and play how you want if you feel like it even though there's no point to anything. It's a turnbased game though.Įdit 2: It seems to me SoD2 is more of a Minecraft type game. Take for instance Xcom 2 WotC on Legend Ironman mode.
Then having facilities like shooting range to upgrade shooting might feel useful. What would be nice would be things being generally harder and take longer to level up characters and characters generally weaker early on than they are now so that you actually have to spend more than 4 in-game days to beat the game. Go into a few warehouses to grab some materials to build what you need for legacy quests (not like they're useful, but it's part of the story) and that's that. It'll give you all the influence you need to buy a large plot and swap around outposts as needed. Just run from checkpoint to checkpoint, grab all the grenades/weapons in the military bases you can find and clear out the hearts (easy). Why scavenge everything you can find or clear infestations? You clearly don't need to. Why upgrade anything? You clearly don't need to. Why build a base? You clearly don't need to. This one has everything you ideally want in a zombie survival (more than 1 survivor to play as, death is permanent, base building) it's just that all of it ends up seeming meaningless when presented with the ease of progressing/ending the game. There's a lot of goofy physics/ai things that make me laugh. Though I did, I couldn't get through the game simply because I disliked it so much.Įdit: I actually say I enjoyed SoD2 more. Oh that game was horrible from what I remember. What really slows me down is trying to complete some survivor requests amidst this so I can unlock a larger base and I tend to be doing it on a new map that I'm unfamiliar with to keep it somewhat interesting. That being said, "Start hitting the rare weapon chests on each of the maps." Didn't know these even existed? Might make it faster/easier if it's not too out of the way. Game would probably be beaten within 1 night if it didn't require you to build a Large facility and do a few other Legacy quests. I tend to just go from Cell Tower to Cell Tower spotting nearby hearts and Military Checkpoints/Roadblocks/Med Tents or anything that's likely to give you more grenades/bombs.
50 cal.īeen trying to rush the game beginning to end and it's only my 3rd playthrough but I tend to just load up on explosives (as that's what the game taught me to do when you play through the tutorial for the first time, that trader that asks you to take out a plague heart gives you a bunch of free explosives)
These things can be made from the beginning of the game and you'll usually be half-done with the plague hearts before you even stumble across a. 1 firecracker per heart is all that's needed to distract the zombies that do show up. These things are real easy to manufacture. Also around 6 pipebombs or a few soda can bombs and a molotov.
